Description: The Kennedy Flats Watershed is located in Clayoquot Sound, on the west coast of Vancouver Island, in British Columbia, Canada. Much of the watershed was logged between 1950 and 1980. Logging practices of the time were not designed to protect wildlife or fish habitat, and as a result many of the streams in the area have reduced fish access, poor water quality, and lack the necessary characteristics to support healthy and diverse wildlife populations. Central Westcoast Forest Society (CWFS) initiated the Kennedy Watershed Restoration Project in 1994 to address the conditions affecting wildlife and wild salmon productivity.
